Well, meebe I shood be a-takin' abitter oh-fens at these words oh-va Brit.
As it happens, I have abitter the blood oh the Irish a-coursin' thru me
veins. But also Scottish, English, French, Russian, German, Lithuanian,
Czechoslovakian, and Creek and Cherokee Native American blood. The Italian
I married. My poor kid's even more a mutt than me!

As for Adler, the TV program was typical of the genre in giving only a few
snippets of his music, mostly showtunes, but I noticed he hardly seemed to
cup his hands at all, often playing VERY open-handed, holding the instrument
with just thumb and forefinger at times, as the right hand lightly worked
the slide. He's quite an animated player, too. I take it this album of
Gershwin music is in the format used by some "older" musicians these days
[e.g., Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett,] performing and/or recording with known
younger performers, such as Bon Jovi and Cher.

I guess I just wonder how much Douglas had to do with protecting him from the
long arm of Joe McCarthy and the UnAmerican Activities Committee. Hmmm...\;)

(: Bobbie :) *Harp Spoken Here*
