RE: Notation/Sequencing Software

Jack Ely mentioned what I would have, had it not already been 2:30 AM:

Yes, they are on the used market now, cuz I just missed getting one last
fall, a QY20 for $275 when they were selling for $430 elsewhere [now about
$480 I see, with QY10's at $290 and QY8's at $240.] There's also the QR10
[$290] and the MU5 Tone Generator [$230] by Yamaha. Some differences:

QY8: 6,000 note, 4-track sequencer, 50 preset patterns, 24 chord types.

QY10: 6,000 note, 8-track sequencing, 30 PCM voices, 26 drum instruments,
       8-song memory, 76 preset patterns.

QY20: 28,000 note, 100 each voices and drum instruments, 20-song memory 6
sections with 100 patterns/section, twice the QY10's multitimbrality,
a 128x64 character LCD display, largest of the three QY units.

QR10: fully programmable patterns, 50 preset patterns and 100 preset phrases
to help in building songs for accompaniment, program or manually change
       chords.

MU5: 128 "high quality" voices, 8 drum "kits", flexible computer interface,
       full General MIDI compatibility.

Info from catalogs, not Yamaha; no affiliations here.

I'd like to know, in fact, if anyone uses one of these, preferably the QY20,
and how they like it.
