volume/tone

Many variables affect tone and volume: preamp and output tubes,
rectifiers,output transformers,caps,speakers,etc.thatt's why amps with
identical tubes can sound so different(especially transformers) E.g. Supers
and pros are almost the same electronically except for the tranny and makes
all the difference in sound. Many old amps get real loud about 4 and not
much loader after 5 or6. you really can't get it perfect for every room
because there are room properties that differ and tone is going to change at
different volumes. One thing you might consider is a line level out on a
small amp. It's not a power soak, you keep the speaker connected but you get
the tone you want then line it to the pa. geralald weber tells you how.
