playing "Major" in 3rd pos.

hey all,

ok, it looks like 3rd pos. wins by a landslide! (which is great, i love
my Bb T-Bone -- thanks tim!) it was nice to see the list respond in force,
and special thanks (again) to tim for suggesting a model to go by. so then,
this raises another question (not "begs," "raises" ;) -- how to play major
key tunes in 3rd position. the way i look at it, this question is really
about which notes to avoid. i know Dave Barrett just did a recent book that
discusses playing 3rd pos. in major instead of the usual minor, but since
i'm not buying that book today, maybe someone can give us the gist of what
NOT to play when playing a C Maj song with a Bb harp...

     thanks again,
                         --Jp
