Are there any groups similar to the Harmonicats that tour?  Particularly
in the Southern California area?

I'll second that -- they are superb.  David himself is a terrific 
player, Michael Burton is unbelievably versatile and tasteful, and 
our own Lord Of The Low Frequencies, Mr. Danny Wilson, holds down the 
bass with awesome precision.
