I've often wondered why Astatic D-104's...the donut shaped ones...never

caught on as harp mics?? I know it uses a different element than the
jt30, 
etc., but is there some real reason why they're not good as harp mics?

To which I reply:

I always thought it was the size and shape of the mic.  It seems too
big around to me.  I can't say I've ever tried one.
