 If you are looking at the sheet music, the last note will tell you the name
 of the key.
 If the sheet music has chord names, then the song will end on the minor
 tonic chord.

 If you know the tune, then a "haunted" or "remote" or "sad" feel will
 identify the minor key as in: "Riders in the Sky",  "Golden Earrings",
 "Nature Boy", "House of the Rising Sun", "Summertime", "Besame Mucho", "La
 Comparsita", "You and the Night and the Music", "Take Me in Your Arms",
 "Softly as in a Morning Sunrise", etc.

 These are just examples to make a point,  I don't seriously think that you
 will be playing many of them them on your diatonic with a band!   ;o)
