Daily Almanac - July 31

Rock bass and harmonica player Karl Green was born on this day in 1947.
Green played with the 1960's British invasion band Herman's Hermits,
sometimes adding the harmonica to the band's sound.

Harmonica wizard Howard Levy was born on this day in 1951. There is no
shortage of things that you can say about Howard and the impact that he has
had on the harmonica. His pioneering use of overbends and subsequent
teaching of the technique to a new generation of players has made him one of
the most influential players of the last tewnty years.

Blues harmonica player Tommy Gary died on this day in 1975. Gary played
with Son Borum during the 1920's and later with Sleepy John Estes. He
remained active in music, working with various partners through at least the
1960's.

That's all I have for today. Have fun and practice.
