Regarding mic cup:

You might want to take a look at the plans for the I-mic on this page
at Planet Harmonica

and build a mic (or use the parts from the one you've got) to make a
mic that fits _you_ well. The shape of the mic at the heel of your
palm end isn't that important to sound in any way I can figure, so
what could you do to a mic design (size/shape) that would work best
for you?
