Daily Almanac - March 8

Classical composer Alan Hovhaness was born on this day in 1911. Hovanhaness
wrote "Concerto For Harmonica and Orchestra" in 1951 and "Seven Greek Folk
Dances, Opus 150" in 1956 for John Sebastian.

Rock keyboard player and harmonica player Ron "Pigpen" McKernan died on this
day in 1973. Pigpen was one of the founding members of the Grateful Dead
and played the harmonica on many of the bands songs during it's early Bluesy
days.

That's all I have for today. Have fun and practice.
