Daily Almanac - May 3

I have no events to report for today.

Because of computer problems, my review of Ryan Hartt's latest CD did not
get out to most of the Daily Almanac's usual reader's. I will re-review it
today.

I recently recieved a copy of list member Ryan Hartt's new CD "Empty Wallet"
and it's fantastic! Produced by Rick Holstrom, the CD was recorded 'Live'
in the studio direct without over dubs during a twoi day period and the
overall feel is as if you're hearing the at a gig without all the noise and
other distractions. The band is extremely solid, playing jump-style Blues.
Ryan's harmonica playing is superb, playing just enough to let you know that
he's a master blaster without stepping all over his fellow musicians. The
writing and arranging is tight throughout the recording. Especially
delightful is the CD's closing number, "North of Franklin" and instrumental
like you occasionally hear a band play towards the end of a long gig, it's
the kind of song you don't get to hear very often, but really shows what
this greoup is capable of.
I definitely recommend that you give this recording a listen

That's all I have for today. Have fun and practice.
