help: Big Walter -- Kansas City

hey y'all,

  can anyone tell me how Big Walter plays the opening
to "We Gonna Move to Kansas City" (i have it on his
Fine Cuts album). it's a very piercing, octavey sound.
it's probably not complicated, but i just can't seem
to find the right notes. 
  any help would be appreciated.
