It is probably because he got himself killed before he was able to be photographed playing with Muddy in a situation that Scorcese could use for the documentary.

The man had a hot temper and he was one of those guys that you figured wouldn`t live very long.  Not at the rate he was going.  

Great loss.  Not only to the harmonica world but to the music world.  It would have been great to see a clip of him playing in this wonderful series.
