Listings, or who have additions/deletions since last Wednesday's

for next Wednesday's internet post. Thank you.

Listings received after noon on Wednesday may or may not be
included in the weekly update to the various internet harmonica
forums at Harp-L, Harp Chat and Harp Talk.  Also, listings received
after the deadline will not be available to the American Harmonica
Newsmagazine Editor until the following Wednesday (one week
later).  So those desiring to be included in the AHN need to get
their listings to me by the deadline noted above, for a better chance
of making the AHN publishing deadline.

BUTTON BOXES AND MOOTHIES CONVENTION
Aberdeen, SCOTLAND
November 14-16

The Eliphstone Institute in Aberdeen has a policy of encouraging
traditional arts in the North and North East of Scotland. They have
previously held successful conventions for singing, storytelling
and the North Atlantic fiddle.

This November they are holding one for the small portable free reed
instruments such as melodeons, button acordions, concertinas and
mouthorgans. The term moothie mainly refers to the tremolo harmonica.

Guest performers have been invited from England and Ireland as well
as Scotland. The harmonica players approached so far include:
Ian Grant - Scotland
Bryce Johnstone - Scotland
Doddie Murray - Scotland
Tim and Pip Murphy - Ireland

There are workshops and concerts. This is a unique occasion to meet
and learn about the traditional music of the area and the playing of
the tremolo (as well as the button boxes..).

Friday 14 November - Seminar at the University of Aberdeen on Free
Reed Instrument Playing in Scotland.
Evening concert at Cowdray Halll Hall (tbc) featuring the guests.

Saturday 15 November - Morning workshops (3) at Marischal
College the Lemon Tree. Free lunchtime concert at the Lemon
Tree/session at the Prince of Wales.
Afternoon Workshops (3) at Marischal College the Lemon Tree.
Afternoon solo gigs (2) at Mitchell Hall. Evening concert at the
Lemon Tree.
