I haven't tried it, but Roger Linn's Adrenalinn is getting rave reviews. 
Also, for reverbs, the Lexicon mpx 110 and 210 are relatively cheap and even 
a cheap lexicon reverb is pretty good.If you're recording and want to go way 
off the deep end, try Antares Kantos-it'll turn any monophonic source into a 
synthesizer. If you want total insanity Death by Audio's Total Sonic 
Annihalation looks like fun as does Z Vex's Seek Wah.
