Blues harmonica player Noah Lewis was born on this day in 1895.  Lewis was
the harmonica player for Cannon's Jug Stompers during the 1920's and 30's as
well as doing some work  with other people and as a solo artist.

Blues harmonica player Billy Bizor was born on this day in 1913.  Billy was
the cousin of Lightnin' Hopkins and was featured on several of his
recordings.  Bizor also released about an album's worth of his own material
as well during his career.

Country harmonica player Jimmie Riddle was born on this day in 1918.  Riddle
was the featured harmonica player for many years with Roy Acuff as well as
making quite a number of recordings with many of Country music's greats.  He
was one of the few Country players to favor playing the Chromatic harmonica.

Country music singer-songwriter, guitar and harmonica player Hank Thompson
was born on this day in 1925.  Thompson learned to play the harmonica while
growing up in Texas and played the harmonica on many of the dozens of albums
he recorded.

Birthday greeting go out to everybody's good friend Doug Puls.  Doug is an
extremely important part of helping to keep these lists going and i'm sure
that i speak for everyone when I wish Doug the very happiest of
birthdays!!!!!

Blues singer and harmonica player Al "Blind Owl" Wilson died on this day in
1970.  Wilson was a terrific Blues historian in his own right and put his
tremendous knowledge to good use when he co-founded the band Canned Heat.

Vaudeville harmonica player, harmonica club founder and all-around good guy
Lou Delin died on this day in 1999.  Lou was a part of Borrah Minevitch's
first band as well as working in vaudeville as a one-legged, tap-dancing
harmonica player.  If you can, get your hands on a copy of his book, it's a
great glimpse into the life a Vaudevillian.
