improvement

The band (Steve and I) previewed the material we've recorded over the last
year and a half. I could see some clear changes in my playing, changes
brought about by conversations on this and subsequent experimentation. A lot
more tongue block, and tongue block type riffs. Different positons too.
Granted we're only talking about 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, but I'm switching
posiitons in a song now, changing to 1st for a bridge, or switching from a D
harp in 3rd position to an A harp in 2nd during the chorus. I'm switching to
acoustic harp on a song, picking up the chromatic, playing with vibrato.
Little things that add a little sparkle to the song, a litle hook.

Thanks to all. It's easy to get into a rut and it's easy during practice to
waste time rehashing the same old riffs-no growth. This list gives me things
to think about.
