Charlie Musselwhite's new CD- Sanctuary

This is a multi-part message in MIME format.

Although I haven't had a chance to order the CD yet ( I sure will! =
), I did have the pleasure of going to see Charlie a few weeks ago at =
'Joe's Pub' in NYC and he performed mostly songs off the new record. (on =
the: Real World label)

The new band with Charlie, was Charlie Sexton, Jared Nickerson =
and Michael Jerome. Now Charlie has ALWAYS had great bands, but this was =
by far THE most versatile group I've ever seen him with. Charlie Sexton =
and Charlie worked off each other with an interplay of riffs and =
dynamics that gave the music 'wings' and took you off to other places. =
The Bass & Drums just laid down the perfect groove behind these tunes =
and never ceased to join in on the musical conversation going on with =
Sexton & Musselwhite. (For those of you unfamiliar with Charlie Sexton, =
go and check out some of his stuff and is a brilliant player!!!)

What I've always dug about CM, he consistently plays great and on =
all his records he really captures the listener and brings them into to =
that 'zone'. Charlie, over the years, has remained successful because he =
is a master a "growing" with Music, whatever genre he attempts he stamps =
it with his own 'signature sound' and comes up with the perfect =
arrangement for the tune be it original or cover. (To me this is =
reminiscent of "Toots", he could play on a Paul Simon, Jaco or Billy =
Joel record and never feel awkward musically.)

My fav's at the Joe's Pub show were Randy Newman's "Burn Down the =
Cornfield" & and a cool arrangement of the Eddie Harris tune "Alicia". =
Since this show had an effortless flow, I'm assuming so will the CD and =
I can't wait to hear it!!!

This new project is a breathe of fresh air in a stagnant pool of Blues =
records that have been saturating the market lately, Bravo Mr. =
Musselwhite and ALWAYS looking forward to YOUR next record.
