Help with Valved bends

Help! Help!   ;-D

Folks I've been working on valved bends in the wood shed, and I just cannot
seem to get comfortable with them! They seem stiff & unmanageable. I'm
trying to use less "exagerated" movements of my tongue & embochure, but I
don't seem to be makin' much progress. Anybody have a suggestion or two for
some exercises or something I can try?
