Arlo Guthrie - A Harp Player Too!

Did you know that Arlo Guthrie, of "Alice's Restaurant" fame,
plays harmonica as well as sings, plays acoustic guitar 
and piano?  He's multi-talented and wears his harp around 
his neck all the time in a harmonica holder.  So it's always
handy to play when the time feels right.  Arlo is very well 
known in New England, his home and mine, and he tours all 
over America and foreign countries too.

Arlo puts on a fantastic show for all ages, young and old.  
I've seen him a half dozen times and I always look forward 
to seeing him perform.  The thing you really miss on his 
CD's and records is his story telling between songs, with
the exception of the song "Alice's Restaurant".  If you 
want to hear him perform this song, he only does it once
a year on Thanksgiving at his church in Western Massachusetts.
This is the same church that he bought, that you've seen in
the classic motion picture "Alice's Restaurant."   It use to 
belong to his friend who moved away.  You could say Arlo 
bought it to keep it in the family.

His in-between song stories are full of humor and he always
gives you a different slant on things to think about.  They go 
hand-in-hand beautifully with his great sounding music!

Catch one of his shows if you can, I know you'll enjoy it!
I always do, but then again, I've been an Arlo fan since 
the Hippie Days!  By the way I don't get paid to advertise
his shows, but I thought he might have some other fans in
this group that would like to know where to catch him, and
who knows you might become a new fan too.  It's been known
to happen after just one of his concerts.  :)
