Jimmie Wood

Well, I'll be!  I was just thinking about writing a post about 
Jimmie Wood, and there you go and mention him.  I have a two 
volume "learn to Play Blues Harp" videotape, on which Jimmie teaches.  
Between lessons, there are little short snippets of Jimmie playing 
with a band.  But the little clips are too short.  Not enough to 
satisfy.  I want to hear more by Jimmie Wood, but when I look him 
up on the internet, there is virtually nothing about him.  Does 
anyone know if Jimmie has any albums out of his own?  Or do I have 
to buy someone elses CD's to hear more of him?  IMHO Jimmie is an 
incredible player.  I've listened to a lot of harmonica CD's lately, 
but Jimmie's phrasing really hits the spot for me.

Greetings to the list.  I don't get write in much but so much is learned and 
enjoyed. Thanks.

I vote FOR the legitimacy and validness of the "Dylanesq", Neil Young, 
Springsteen, harmonica style and sound.  Absolutely!!! 

Those musicians know music theory and CHOOSE to play harmonica to further 
whatever it is they are creating.

The sound they make creates a mood, making songs almost cinematic, like a 
movie or play.    

When another feel is needed they often use other Harmonica players.  
Springsteen hired Jimmy Wood for a previous CD, The Stones used Sugar Blue.

A beauty of the instrument, for me, is it's "toy-like" character that is 
unique for a harmonic device and transends barriers like age, finance, 
education, life circumstance.  What joy I get from creating sounds from 
this "toy" that amaze others with it's power and musicality.
