Hurricane Sez :

Ain't it the truth man ain't it the truth ! LOL !

These past summer months I have been in the studio with several " heavy's " in the guitar world out of Los Angeles & southern California areas and other parts of the USA . I kept my eyes wide open seeing what kind of " chops " these kats were laying down , I was doing it ( ¡ stealin man stealin ! ) to two of the guitar players as they recorded their guitar tracks . As I did , I looked at them and complemented them after they were done and we were hearing the play back ( these kats were smokin ) , I said it out loud . " man have I been stealin some sh*t from you two cats big time " and we all broke out in grins , you see as they recorded their electric guitar parts , I was playing along with them on my steel string electric acoustic and also when the play back was being heard I jammed it again , I was comping them and even if they were light years ahead of me in technical expertise , virtuosity and execution , I was able to not only able play some clean lines and copy a little of their work I was also able to be heard clearly and not step on any ones lines . I owe this ability to being a harp man first and formost that loves to play on the back beat primarily and in that " back beat space " is a lot of room to move in for this man on harp or anything else in my hands I can play . I who in turn " stole " that back beat style one night when listening to a hot band in Los Angeles with a smoking harp player ripping it up on the back beat , heh heh , and that back beat harp player I stole from that time was Butterfield live and from his recordings later on that I got , so my man

Robert " The Thief OF Harps " Paparrozzi ,

I am hip ! !

I is one stealin son of a gun toooo ! Last night at rehearsal I was stealin guitar licks from Chan , man can he rip , I am humbled...He spanked my butt , but what a lesson from a Rock-A-Billy monster , I am lucky to hook up with this man .

He also complemented me too as I was able to do the lead lines on one of his new compositions to the point of surprising him and leaving him with a smile on his face as he listened to my playing ( again on the back beat ) and said " whoa , listen to Hurricane play lead guitar " , you can imagine what a complement like that meant to me coming from some one like Chan Romero .

Chan has been able to see my transformation from a " sorry son of a gun on the guitar " to what he heard last night .

Bottom Line ALL :

This kind of stealin might be considered :

 " intelectual property theft " So ,

  " ¡ ¡ ¡ If you can't play the time , don't steal that line ! ! ! "

Ciao Robert , I got to go on a " ¡ ¡ - - Caper - - ! ! " :)

look out I am in a alternative state of mind ! I Feel I'm A Gonna Rip Off Some REM Chops LOL .

Sincerely :

HR
