Dylan whole is better than the individual parts that make it up. Voice - scratchy, nasally,  harmonica - whiney, tinny, etc.

It was his message - the words and ideas in his songs that resonated within a generation. He was a musical equivalent to Jack Kerouac's writings in expressing the thoughts/emotions of the times.
