[Harp-L] Clayton Goldstein's Czech invasion!

Saturday night I had to good fortune to cross paths with Harp-Ler Clay Goldstein, who had traveled here to the Czech Republic with guitarist Stonewall Jackson to play some gigs (they've been gigging back home in Missouri, with a drummer and bass player, under the name "Chop Shop" - see chopshopfans.com).
Clay and Stonewall did some shows down in the Czech Republic's second city, Brno, and then traveled here to the capital, Prague. Clay's a monster harpist (check out www.claygoldstein.com) and these guys put on a hell of a fun show. We got together at a pub Saturday night for a free-for-all jam session that included some fine local players including a stellar harp player, Charlie Slavik of the band Highway 61. Most times, the idea of three harp players on the stage at the same time makes even me shudder. But it went quite well, with each of us bringing something slightly different to the mix and staying out of the other musicians' way. I think everyone had a great time. Clay and Stonewall are booking some full-band gigs here in the spring -- I can't wait to see 'em in action again.
