Re: the ultimate in feedback prevention?

Hi Jimmy,
the Axetrak on special for limited time US$339.
Sounds similar to other Power Soak / Attenuators.
The guts of which is they produce a load for your power amp speaker output,
and let you drop the volume on it without losing any tone.

Scholz Power Soak $200 list <--- what I use
Marshall Power Brake $350 list
Groove Tubes Speaker Emulator II $500 list
Harry Kolbe Soundsmith - Silent Speaker $250 list,
The Attenuator $150 list
ADA MicroCAB $220 list
Hughes & Kettner - Red Box Mk III $130 list

Turn off your amp.
Select the correct impedance (16ohm, 8ohm or 4ohm).
Plug your power amp speaker output directly into it.

Dial the attenuator level down to minimum giving you a safe Line Level and
plug in.
Alternatively you can place it between the power amp and speaker, drive your
amp as hard as you want, and use the attenuator to bring the volume levels
down.
Some units have a seperate Line Out which makes them more versatile.

Definitely worth getting if you have a big amp and want to use it at home,
studio or in small to medium venues without <gasp> damaging the audience's
hearing. <who'd of thunk it?!~>

Check out this cool device:
http://www.axetrak.com/

Now you can plug your harp into your custom Bogner head, crank it loud
enough to wake the dead, and still have nice quiet music and zero feed back.

Now we all know rationally that tone comes from the player, but deep down
inside
we know there's got to be a magic box that makes us sound like the next Sam
the
Sham and the Pharaohs.
