recording harp shows

i was curious how you professional harp players ou there feel
about allowing your shows to be recorded and traded? mind you,
i'm not talking about pirating copyrighted material or sharing mp3's
of your albums.

but a lot of bands (dead, allmans, govt mule, ...) encourage live
recording of their shows, as a means of expanding their fan base.
i've been turned onto a number of bands (mofro, moe, govt mule,...)
through live recordings, which has resulted in cd and ticket sales
for the bands.

so, is this something y'all have thought about and rejected, or not
considered? do you think it would help or hurt you economically?
it's potentially a tradeoff between sales of your cd's and more
ticket sales. band's like govt mule are touring bands; they make their
money from playing, not mega-platinum cd sales. maybe you need to
reach a certain level of exposure before the benefits kick in?

i dunno, but thought it might make for some interesting discussion here.
