Has anyone tried any of these amps yet?

For the amps powered by AA batteries you could use 
rechargable Nickel-Metal Hydride batteries and carry 
a spare set with you.  I'd prefer AA batteries over 
a 9-volt battery myself.  AA rechargable cells have 
higher current ratings than a 9-volt battery too,  
this translates to more playing time per discharge cycle.
