Re: [Harp-L] Melody Makers, Paddy Richters, and recording

Richard's comments highlight a key feature of the Melody Maker tuning,
namely the ability to choose the tone and articulation of the #3 blow note.
On a Richter tuned instrument, this note requires a substantial bend on the
#3 draw. While this bend can be mastered with sufficient practice, it is
difficult to alter the sound of the note, e.g. to play it quietly.

I have a tuning called "Major Cross", which takes the Meloldy Maker tuning
to its logical conclusion. Details are at
http://www.harmonicatunes.com/tuning.htm The site also has MP3s, which
demonstrate how it sounds.
