[Harp-L] Re: Gig attire

Okay, here?s my attempt to keep the attire thread alive ?

Last year I let a certain blues guitarist spend the winter
in my shack downeast. He had cleared out by the
time I was back for the summer, but had given me an
invite to sit in with him at a little restaurant down the
road. So on the appointed night, I head into the restaurant
and plug in, noticing peripherally that he?s a little more
decently dressed than usual ... I start honking away and
everything?s groovy. Then, in the middle of my second
or third big break, I happen to notice a silly little logo on
his tee-shirt: ?Gold?s Gym?. As I continue my
ground-breaking improvisational adventures, I?m
wondering why that logo is familiar, and then it strikes
me ? the logo is familiar because the shirt belongs to me ?

So I go on playing, of course, and a couple of songs later
I?m doing my big break, and in the course of my gyrations I
tilt my head down - and observe that my associate is wearing
black jeans just like I?m in the habit of wearing ?then I
remember that just that morning I was looking around
my place for a pair of black jeans I was sure I had left there ?

A little later, I?m in the middle of constructing the
definitive jump-blues harp solo when my contortions again
have me looking floorward ? and I think to myself, ?Hey, that?s
a nice pair of leather loafers ? they look more like something I
would wear ? wait a minute ? ?

I would say that everything this guy was wearing, right down
to his socks, belonged to me, except that he wasn?t wearing socks.
Talking to him later, I realized he had no idea if
he was wearing his clothes or my clothes or his sister?s clothes
or whose clothes. Some people are like that.
