   I agree w/ MN here, Chuck, hold off on the "Rig" situation....MORE 
important right now is shedding the repetoire!

   Pick 3 songs a week:
Start with ie:

Cruisin' For a Love
Pack Fair and Square
Homework

also, give listens to the 'live' versions, but LEARN the song FIRST off the 
Studio Versions so you can really get a handle. Dick told me that you should 
always practice with a small rig by your stereo and hold her Mic throughout 
all this shedding as there alot of Micing and Amped tonalities and sublties 
that you'll catch by doing so. I think this is good advice and it worked 
well for me when I was playing this stuff back in the 70's.

 Set aside a bit of the practice time to devote to Little Walter 
records.....Dick borrowed "heavily" from him but really took in a very 
'Tumpet' like direction as well
so seek out some early Armstrong and start listening.
Then go back to Dick and listen to how he approaches Armstrong's solo on 
"I'm Not Rough" (Monkey Island)
It's a Masterful rendition with articulation to die for!!!!

    When your ready to get the rig contac me offlist and we'll do a 
conference call with Pierre Beaureguard who hung, traveled and worked alot 
of Dick's gear for years......and get HIS input!
