RE: [Harp-L] A Truly Sad Situation! Huh? Wha?

A troll in internet usergroup terms is usually the resident know-it-all who
hangs out on a particular list and is very rude to others, generally the
type that has other frustrations or sociological problems and enjoys the
anonymity of hiding behind their keyboard and being able to say things to
people that they'd never have the guts to say in person. So say someone new
comes on the list and asks a novice question. The troll would immediately
seize on this opportunity to answer with some supposed humorous and quite
humiliating to the newbie response to make themselves feel better in their
dominant knowledge of the subject, and be a big-shot to the other troll
wanna-bes on the list that shower the troll with idol worship because of
their knowledge, etc. something like that. Most discussion lists have more
than one, at least one though. Think in terms of the troll in the Lord of
the Rings, the one with the big club. Watch out Mr. Frodo!

Harp content: See, after three years on this list you don't know what that
is. Because we don't have one!
