[Harp-L] Digital recording (MiniDisc, MP3, DAT)

Just a short addition to this topic.

Caveat: If you are just recording to get a measure of
what and how you are doing, ignore all this.

If you go MiniDisc, get Hi-MD. It is acoustically
superior to regular MiniDisc. Look for recorders with
mic in, as mentioned. And if you are planning to
transfer music to your computer, look for a USB
interface. Go here for anwers http://www.minidisc.org

If you intend to create Cd's for release you might
consider Digital Audio Tape, aka DAT. It is a higher
fidelity medium. It is, unfortunatley, more expensive
and less portable. And the medium (tape) is more
sensititive and less convenient.

MP3's, well, I have issues with this format.
"CD Quality" is, in general, a step down from the
original analog audio. MP3's are at least one step
down from there.
