Re: [Harp-L] Popper & speed

Roscso is not only faster But he's much more musical. Jason too. I think John Popper's playing has control but no heart. He is an amazing singer and song writer and has done alot to promote the harmonica.and I thank him for that. But he is not the guy I would wish to study. I love so many different styles and players It's hard to say who my favorates are. Jason, Roscoe, George Brooks, Filisko, Guyger, Madcat, Mark Voss, I steal from everyone Yes even you Chris.
Love you and hope your feeling better

Rosco can be faster. Levy is definately faster when he wants to be. A
fellow named Dave Hytone from MN is much faster, I've heard Ricci
tear up several lines that are faster than Popper, I can be faster...

The point is CAN BE. I for one am in the Popper camp and my only
negative thought about his playing is that he lacks control. Any of
the people mentioned above except for me can play at the sustained
velocity. I have Pneumonia and can't hardly play a damn thing these
days...

Hey list (& Chris),

Popper IS all that fast!!

Not that speed matters in and of itself, but I've only heard a few
players who even approach that speed & precission. Are there some players
out there I don't know about?
