[Harp-L] re: harmonica scales



I don't sight read music. I don't practice my scales. To sight read well, it
really helps to know all your scales in all the keys. That's one of many
reasons that musicians practice scales for hours. I've tried to do this, but I
just can't keep up the concentration. This is a major barrier to my
development.

Think of Mr Barrett's scales as similar to fingering charts for pianists. If
you're young, you want to do session work, you have to sight read, and you
should really know your scales.
