[Harp-L] Re: Replying to a message in the Digest

I was wanting to reply to a message posted to the service. Unfortunately, I have subscribed to the digest format. Therefore, if I reply, it would be to the list only, not to any of the contributors that had messages in the digest. I sent to the archives and found the specific message that I wanted to reply to, but since I am in a web browser, I do not have the option of replying to an email message. When I click on the email address of the individual, it is opening my email application and creating a new email message from scratch. It also doesn't have the individual's domain name.

How do others on the list server reply to individual messages when they receive in the digest format?

Hi Mike,

I also subscribe in digest form. You might try the following for replying to a specific message: simply mash "reply," which sets up an Email to the general list. Then remove everything you received in the digest except the message you are responding to. Then change the topic by pasting the new topic into the subject line, and paste the individual's email address into the cc line. Then write the reply and mash "send." In this manner, the reply is sent both to the list and to the individual. If you want to reply only to the individual (i.e. off-list,) replace the harp-l address with the individual's address.

cheers and best wishes,
TB
