Yes. Don't be afraid to just stand there and tap your
feet. Harmmonica players sometimes feel foolish when
they aren't playing but you need to be secure in your
playing and in your stage presence to just stand there
and not play. Drink beer, check out the chicks in the
audience, (god help you)play tambourine, but don't
stomp all over other people's solos. There are
certainly times when playing lines behind a soloist is
acceptable, playing the string line in "Thrill Is
Gone" or a horn line on a jump tune for example, but
you have to to when that is.
