[Harp-L] Re: Gregoire Maret

Incidentally, I purchased the record today and listened to about half of it. So far I love it to bits, although I have yet to find where significantly the harmonica is featured. That's not why I bought it though, so it's an added bonus when I do find it.

I'll try and write a review ASAP.

Hey All,

I don't know if you guys have already been on this subject, but I just found out Gregoire Maret, a relatively new chrom player on the scene, will be touring with Pat Metheny, as well he will be featured on his upcoming album. You can either burn with envy or celebrate the exposure. I'll do the latter, just for my health. It kinda makes you wonder how someone can land a gig like that. Besides living in New York, graduating from the New School, blah blah. Oh, and being able to play.
I just recently bought Charlie Hunter's C.D. featuring Gregoire. He is a pretty good player. I also bought the DVD, which features him. I have yet to watch it. I emailed Gregoire to congratulate him.
His website is www.gregoiremaret.com. No sound clips. Good site. Crazy hairdoo.
I got pretty depressed when I first heard the news. Then I talked to my good friend, a bass player, who responded - "You play harmonica, imagine if you played bass or guitar, this would happen to you EVERY DAY!!!"
Maybe it should.

Congratulations, Gregoire. Tell Pat we said hi.
