Thanks, Joe. I played them a few minutes ago and now they're closer. I think what's happened is that whatever gunk is in there was saturated by the water and alcohol, which weighted down the reeds. So I agree with your advice. It's time to break them open...

I like a product by the name of Red Bear copper and brass polish. It's a
