Re: [Harp-L] Significant others - no harp

i have the opposite "problem."
even though my girl likes 80's and club music, she totally encourages me
to play and practice at home.
she even went with me to a jason ricci show,
met him, and loves the guy.
i live in a studio apartment and she's over all the
time too.. the thing is,, i can't really play and/or practice when she's around.
your time is your time. it's hard to really focus when there is somebody there
reading or watching tv.
woodshedding is called that for a reason.
i now tell her not to come over some nights when i really want to
work and it's not a problem.
...kind of a fine line though.

peace and chickengrease,
eric

Yo Pierre -

I think you must have planted a listening device in my house.

I love my wife, but she likes soft rock and I am a knucklehead for the blues. And frenetic jazz. And loud zydeco music. And crazed funk. And even selected hip hop.

Love is weird - opposites attract.

Just wondering how you all get along with your significant other. Does your significant other do some of the following:

Turn down the volume when it is at a reasonable level.
Turn the stereo off on you when you got for a leak.
Ask you: oh pleeeeaaaase, no music tonight.
Ask you: can you change the music.

These things kind of grate on my nerves after a while. Seems to me the effect is additive, the longer it goes on, the more annoyed you get.

Is there any help for this?

Pierre.
