[Harp-L] re: would Little Walter OB

No. Had Little Walter not died from injuries sustained in a drunken brawl he
would have wound up playing with Miles Davis and Jimi Hendrix. Miles would be
exploring Howling Wolf modalities, along with intensive forays into reggae.
Jimi would switch from a Marshall stack to a narrow panel tweed Fender Deluxe.
Billy Cobham would be allowed to play with them but he only could have one bass
drum and he'd have to play with brushes. Even then, Walter would complain about
him playing too damn much.

Walter would eventually get tired of dealing with all of Mile's craziness.
Walter would make a record with his drinking buddy, Eddie Hazel of the
Funkadelics. Bootsy Collins, Maceo Parker, the Horny Horns, and the whole P
Funk ensemble would sit in. Stevie Wonder would make a guest appearance and
show Little Walter some chromatic riffs. Walter's renditon of Hazel's "Maggot
Brain" would be the definitive harp instrumental for years to come.

The 80's would find Little Walter hanging out with Jimmy Jam, putting harp all
over Janet Jackson's Rythym Nation. Walter would put some live harp over Afrika
Bambaataa's World Destruction Album. Tired and unappreciated in America, Walter
would eventually move to Jamaica to make crazy dub records with Sly and Robbie.

The 90's would be the last time Little Walter recorded, doing an album with
Carlos Santana, John Lee Hooker, and Public Enemy. Hendrix would do a guest
appearance as would Stevie Wonder and Janet Jackson.

Walter would lead a life of semi retiremnt in the new millenium, doing an
occassional cameo appearance on Law and Order, playing the occassional blues
festival and doing remixs with the Chemical Brothers.
