Re: [Harp-L] Back in Nashville For Five Min.

The kid that Jason is referring to is R.J. Harman, one of my private students of 1 1/2 years in the Orlando area. R. J. has taken the place of Sunny Girl (when I lived in Detroit) for me as the student that has the natural talent and drive to seriously make some noise. A few of the listers will know him from Augusta Heritage Blues Week.

R.J. began wanting to play blues, but through our affiliation and his inspiration from Carlos, he is now interested in becoming a complete musician that can also play great blues. We work on understanding jazz changes and relaxation/improvisation techniques. R.J. has already performed as a lead instrument in his High School Jazz Band, bringing the harmonica to that new awareness within the jazz and educational community ("I never knew a harmonica could sound like that.")

I also told him, with a name like "RJ" and "Harman", he has no choice but to play excellent, as these are two names already known for their talent within the harmonica community.

<<I wanted to let everyone
know about this 16 year old kid R.J. whio came out to the house of blues
show in Orlando. Back to R.J (not Misccho) He played me carlos intro to jitter bug
waltze the tribute to Howard levey where you play bass parts melody and
chords simultaneously its a Beethoven song I forget the name then he played
some kim Wilson licks for me. He's sixteen and I'm sure in no time we will
