[Harp-L] Brendan's stretch harps

I queried the list previously about 12 or 14 hole
diatonics and a couple respondends pointed me to
Brendan Powers' custom stretch diatonics. These seem
to be just the what I'm looking for. However, I don't
think I'll be getting one for a while. I recognize the
time he puts into them and the quality of the end
product so I do not say the harps are overpriced;
simply that I don't have the cash for one at present.

 So, until I can get the funds for a real one I
naively want to take a shot at making one myself. What
I want to know is how he joins the two comb halfs
together. Are they glued and how does he minimize the
seam where they join? Also, the profile of the stock
covers are lowered. Is this acheived by reshaping
alone or does he remove material from the front edge.

By the way, for those who haven't checked out
Brendan's site, do so. This guy mods all types of
harps in weird and wonderful ways and he consistently
gets glowing reviews of everything he touches.
