[Harp-L] Re: Historical perspective of harp-l

I've enjoyed being a member for over 10 years. It was easier to pay close
attention and sometimes participate back when I was a computer systems analyst
for the State of Delaware. Yes, I'll admit I spent some (significant) desk time
reading Harp-L posts at my desk when maybe I should have been working harder
as a Banyan Vines admin. or writing SQL queries to the database....

Now that I mostly read the digest and occasionally post from home (since I've
been in public education for @ 9 years and am now an Assistant Principal at a
high school - for my day job), I still enjoy the experience of talkin' harp.

I've learned a lot, found friends, discovered new talent, picked up a nice
Hurricane V-8 amp, and chuckled at some of the oh-so-serious occasional
squabling that results when folks talk to each other without the benefit of seeing
facial expressions. On the whole, its a very well run, very civillist that
includes incredibly bright and experienced members.

My thanks to all the folks from Chris to Hugh to Barry et al that make it
work.

Extra harp content: we played the Chesapeake Inn on the deck yesterday 12:30
- 4:30 and had a great time. 80 degrees F and sunny. We had a sax and B-3 in
addition to the usual line-up and had a great time, going wireless onto the
dock, watching a young lady in a very patriotic Memrial Day bikini waxing her
boat. Life is good! http://www.chesapeakeinn.com/
