There's a 2 CD set Best of Canned Heat that deals only with the very early days w/Alan Wilson, a truly excellent example of accessable playing on blues harp. The band also played more of a stripped down blues style in their early incarnation.
 
He had tone, timing, phrasing and is well worth studying. For players at the beg/int. level, this is a great resource. For advanced players, this is a great study in economy and space.
 
Just don't get sidetracked with the few times he used a custom tuned harmonica to give him that 6 hole OB note (although he didn't OB).
