RE: [Harp-L] Annie says: (was Sunny girl )

I'm sure it will pass. it's difficult to get an underlying emotion or feeling across in an e-mail message when the vast majority of recipients don't know anything more about the writer than their words. misunderstandings will occur. cutting through all that... one thing out of Annie's response that I believe is very important for all, is the statement: "When I am playing music, my only goal is to attain a higher level of communication with the other musicians and the audience."

That reminds me of a little something that I would like to share, as I mention it to my bandmates at most every gig... some years back, my wife (Helen) attended a poetry reading of a co-worker's spouse. After the reading, while talking with the poet, Helen mentioned I couldn't make it because I was at band rehearsal. She bought a book from the poet in which he signed (in reference to making music) "thanks for bringing us all to a higher place." for me, that will always serve as a reminder to just what a powerful communicator music is at so many levels. Each one of us, with any given note, could change a life.

Jim.

Good lord. I for one, and I'm sure most if not all here, read this as such,
an entertaining story with a 'little' embellishment and knew better than to
believe that an adult, much less a professional musician, much less Annie
Raines, would try to "bury" a little kid in public like that. And after all
the positive contributions that Iceman has shared here, I would have given
him the benefit of the doubt or posted to him privately to give him a chance
to correct it himself before doing this. It was just an expression, and now
the Iceman's in trouble with Annie. I don't think that was necessary!

"I'm gonna go tell Annie", "I'm gonna go tell Annie".....there's a kid like
that in every class, haha.

Geez.
