[Harp-L] 5 & 7 bends

In my first go round with the instrument some years
back the available literature (not much) always
cautioned against bending on holes 5 & 7. Either
because it couldn't be done or would wreck the harp.
We now better understand harp physics and mechanics.
Any reed can be unduly stressed by trying to bend to
its limits; a little above the lower pitched reed.

I really like the blow bend 7 for expression. As long
as I'm gentle is it okay to bend between that semitone
separation? Or is the concensus that any bending on
that hole will push the reed to its limit and cause it
to fail prematurely?
