Re: [Harp-L] Musselwhite overblowing or alternate harptuning?

Too true. Most harmonica professionals of any credibility are aware of overblowing. Most probably have tried it on their own at one time or another.

I believe the question may be, does Charlie (or the other professionals) include this technique as a viable part of their personal performance arsenal?

Charlie doesn't overblow on the gig to my knowledge. He also hasn't recorded using this technique to my knowledge (keep in mind I haven't heard his latest CD as yet). He's asked me many questions about position playing and how it applies to certain chord progressions, but has yet to ask me about OB's, and he knows that I have a lot of experience in this arena.

Charlie Musselwhite has been familiar with the basic techniques of
overblowing since the mid eighties. If you don't believe that ask, Ludo he
was listning in to the conversation.
