Re: [Harp-L] mySPAH

I'm certainly not involved in these decisions (maybe Paul Davies will chime in here), but I think the organization likes to keep the locations central so no one has to traverse the *entire* country to get there. Remember, there are folks coming from New York and Florida and South Carolina as well as Washington and Oregon and California. It's also an absolute necessity that there's a strong club that's capable of organizing and hosting a gathering like this. Paul's affiliation with the Mile High club in Denver no doubt had an influence on the decision, just like Jack Ely's contributions to the Buckeye club that sponsored in 2002, Jerl Welch and HOOT in Dallas in 2003 and the St. Louis and Kansas City clubs in 2004 and 2005.

Next year's SPAH is in Milwaukee. --- In harp-l-archives@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, "Bill Hines" <billhines4@...> wrote: "Well, I managed to crawl back to blazingly hot Texas after some relief in the cooler climes of Denver." Someone else asked, but I hadn't seen a response yet. Maybe now that folks are getting back from their travels. Was any announcement made about where spah will be next year, or does that come later?
