There's plenty of room.  Just: (A) be happy with what your doing.   
(B) please your audience with what makes you unique.  (C) Let go of  
your worries about what others think of your playing.  If (A) and (B)  
are true, who cares what the chauvinists say.  It's their problem,  
not yours.
