I'm looking for a mic element and was hoping to get some help locating it. I have two Astatic 200's and I love these things. Yes they're heavy, and they have a stem, but I like the feel of them. Both came to me with the original crystal elements dead. One was marked 101 and the other 106.
I put a Shure CM element 99A86 into one of them and it sounds great. I want to locate a crystal or ceramic element for the other but am unsure what to use and where to get it. I do not want to use the cheap small crystal elements you can get at Mouser, and I don't want a current production Bluesblaster element. I've listened to both and they both sound bad to me. What are my choices? I've seen the MC-151 crystal but they are usually very expensive. I've heard the MC-127 ceramic is a good choice for a replacement but I haven't located one.
Any help would be appreciated. Both of the Astatic 200s are for my personal collection.
